- Welcome to my website. I started this new website so that I could document my recent trip to Mongolia, which I did. Now I'm adding our trip to Bolivia and our trip to Africa.In March my husband and I traveled to Bolivia to visit a young women who had lived with us for six months. She was an intern for an organization called Earthcorps. They bring young people from all over the planet to learn about environmental leadership, trail buiidling, and restoration. We shared our American life with her and learned more about her life in Bolivia. As a result we wanted to see her country, meet her family, and learn more about her and her country's culture. It was a month long journey that left us with a better understanding of Bolivian culture and in awe of the amazingly diverse landscapes of Bolivia.I recently added our adventure in Africa where we spent a month climbing Kilimanjaro, going on safari, and enjoying Sauti Su Basara, the international African music festival on the Island of Zanzibar.Additionally I do conservation photography for a number of projects in my home location of Washington State and the Seattle area. That is why I have the nickname Backyard Adventure Girl because the greatest adventures are right in my backyard!12/15/13I recently am updating my Backyard Adventure Gallery. These are adventures I've been lucky enough to experience here in the United States. Some of my favorite places are in this gallery. Utah, the Colorado river, Lake Tahoe, and my own backyard here is Seattle. Stay tuned for more backyard galleries.My most recent gallery addition is a month long trip to the four Corners- Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. We visited Zion National Park, Hovenweep, Canyon De Chelle, Mesa Verde, Natural Bridges, Arches National Park, and the Maze District of the Canyonlands. We also had a quick stop at Red Rock State Park and Lake Mead in Nevada on our way back to Las Vegas.
